Consultant Spotlight: Vinesh Mehta, Senior Strategic Consultant

Vinesh Mehta gets a kick out of Mondays — and transforming businesses, too!

“The best thing about Friday is that it’s only 48 hours until Monday!”

Said no one ever.

Except, that is, Vinesh Mehta. That catchphrase became his favorite motto from the last project he worked on. And get this: He meant it!

In his role as a senior strategic consultant for Collabry, Vinesh loves nothing more than taking on a challenge — the thornier, the better. In his capable hands, today’s complex initiatives become tomorrow’s smooth-operating systems. And he loves every minute of the process.

In his 20-plus years of experience in finance and technology, Vinesh has served organizations from startups to Fortune 500 companies. His expertise in strategy, communications, and project management has empowered his clients to develop and execute impactful strategies.

His work gets results — check out just a few of his recent successes:

  • Drawing on his strategy-consulting acumen, Vinesh helped design a third-party ETF/Mutual Fund offering that’s set to provide new benefits to providers and increase client revenues by $20M to $30M per year.

  • Drawing on his expertise in proposal development, Vinesh led a project management team in developing a ~$150M business case that combined 5 major projects to transform the technology and operations of a client’s wealth advisory business.

  • Through his expertise in business strategy and project management, he helped craft a technology roadmap spanning three to five years and successfully implement a new architecture to handle the client’s data. This resulted in reduced response times for advisors and clients, fewer data inconsistencies, and a streamlining of the supporting apps.

Vinesh takes joy in communicating such complex strategies to key players. Clients appreciate his ability to shape messaging that creates executive buy-in, enables teams to execute seamlessly, and helps new team members ramp up quickly. As one client recently told Vinesh, “You have an uncanny ability to take a mess of incoherent ideas, thoughts, and content and turn it into concise and easy-to-comprehend material. I can't imagine what 2024 would look like without your many contributions.”

Not surprisingly, Vinesh enjoys taking up challenges in his personal life, too. In the past year, he attempted to learn basic Japanese, and gave his new linguistic skills a test run by traveling to Japan.

“Finding that every phrase I spoke was met with directions to McDonald's made me realize there's so much more to learn.”

That, of course, did not discourage Vinesh in the least. Back home, he continues to learn new phrases every day.

Never one to back away from a challenge, Vinesh once took a ballroom dance on a dare…and later became a teacher at a school owned by a Dancing with the Stars pro. After taking a motorcycle class with a buddy, he became an enthusiast and has been riding every weekend ever since.

Vinesh lives in the San Francisco Bay Area, a place he cherishes for its spirit of innovation, the excitement of global commerce, the variety of places to see and experience, and the easy access to great places and people across the country and globe.
